How Can We Help?
Citizen Requests
Citizen Requests are a way for community members or people experiencing homelessness to request help from the people charged with ending homelessness in your community. If your community is using Show The Way, and has enabled the Client Portal feature, you can request assistance for yourself, another person, or a physical location. If your community does not have Show The Way, you will see the following screen:
After opening the application, tap on the Request Or Find Help button at the bottom of the screen, then tap on the Citizen Request button. The app will ask you if you’re in the same location as the person or place needing assistance. If you’re not, the app will later ask you where that location is.
After selecting the specific type of help you need, you can fill out a brief survey, where you can include whatever details you’re comfortable sharing. After tapping Submit, that request is then sent to the organization in charge of managing and dispatching these requests in your community. They will assign the request to someone who can help.
If you need urgent assistance, the Public Resource Directory in the app can show you resources in your area that may help you.
